The song "I think about Los Angeles", by the Beloved Icelandic musician Kristján Kristjannsson, better known as KK, is offered in the new American Sean Penn movie, Flag Day, Morgunblaðið reports. The song, composed of KK in 1992, is carried out by the US power Cat Energy (Chan Marshall). The film premiered earlier this summer at the Cannes Film Festival.

In addition to Cat Power, Glen Hansard, Eddie Vedder and Olivia Vedder act in the film. The album with the soundtrack of the film will be launched today by Republic Records and Seattle Surf.

KK explains that he has spent a year or two since he approached for the first time about giving permission so that the song is used in the film. "I just said, 'yes', he says.

"The power of the cat sings the song and the parts of it in the film," he continues. "Then, she sings the whole song, which will be launched on a sound track."

KK affirms that the understanding of him is that [Icelandic film editor] Valdís Óskarsdóttir, who along with Michelle Treasure edited the film, took Penn's attention to the song, which he instantly liked.

This is the first time that a KK song appears in a foreign film, but he himself appeared in the Sense8 series in Netflix, where he played the ukulele.

He describes the performance of the cat's power as Divine. What he appreciates is that he gives him the song his own interpretation of him, he held her. "I'm just in the nine cloud," concludes KK.

A vinyl record with a selection of the songs of it, which covers the 1985-2000 period of time, was recently launched in Iceland. It includes a total of 23 songs.
